What to Wear

Look good. Feel good. Still look like you.

You don't need a brand-new wardrobe or perfectly coordinated outfits. A little planning goes a long way, and I'm here to make it easy.

First Rule: Be Yourself

The best thing you can wear is something you actually feel good in.

If you're uncomfortable, constantly adjusting something, or wearing an outfit because you think it's what you're "supposed" to wear for senior photos, you're probably not going to love it.

Start with clothes that make you feel confident and like yourself. Then we'll build from there.

Build Some Variety

Casual

Jeans, tees, sweaters, sneakers, boots, or whatever
looks like the everyday version of you.

Dress It Up

A dress, skirt, button-down, blazer, suit, heels, or something you
wouldn't normally wear to school.

Show Your Thing

Uniforms, jerseys, letter jackets, workwear, dance outfits,
or clothing connected to something important to you.

Something You Love

That jacket you wear constantly. Your favorite boots.
The dress you feel amazing in. If you love it, bring it.

Don't Dress for Pinterest

Pinterest is great for inspiration. It isn't a dress code.

Trends come and go, but these photos are going to stick around. Choose pieces that fit your personality and make you feel confident.

Love neutrals? Perfect.

Live in bright colors? Bring them.

Never wear dresses? You absolutely do not need one for senior photos.

I'd rather photograph the real you than a version of you dressed like somebody else's Pinterest board.

A Few Things That Photograph Really Well

COLOR

Solid colors are always a great starting point. Neutrals, earth tones, jewel tones, pastels, and bold colors can all photograph beautifully.

The most important part? Make sure the color looks good on you.

TEXTURE + LAYERS

Denim, sweaters, jackets, leather, knits, flannels, cardigans, and other textures add interest without making an outfit feel busy.

Layers also give us easy ways to change a look without a full outfit change.

ACCESSORIES

Jewelry, hats, belts, watches, boots, jackets, sunglasses, and other accessories can take a simple outfit and make it feel finished.

You don't need a lot. A few intentional pieces can make a big difference.

Details Matter

Sometimes it's the little things you don't notice until they're in a photograph.

Make sure clothes are clean and wrinkle-free. Check shoes, especially if they'll be visible. Think about bra straps and undergarments with lighter or fitted clothing. Remove hair ties from wrists before the session.

And yes, if you have pets, bring a lint roller.

Dog hair has a supernatural ability to find black clothing five minutes before photos.

Before You Commit to an Outfit...

MOVE IN IT

Sit down. Walk. Bend. Raise your arms.

If you're fighting your clothes at home, you'll fight them during photos.

CHECK EVERY ANGLE

Look at the front, back, and sides.

Make sure you feel good from more than one angle.

DON'T FORGET THE SHOES

Your shoes are part of the outfit.

Make sure they're clean and actually work with the look.

YOU > TRENDS

If you feel incredible in it, that matters more to me

than whether it's currently trending.

You should look at your senior photos and recognize yourself.

Not a trend.

Not somebody else's style.

You.

Hair, Makeup & Grooming

Keep this SHORT because this isn't a beauty manual.

You don't need professional hair or makeup unless that's something you want.

The goal is to look like yourself on a really good day.

Try to avoid major hair changes, brand-new skincare products, aggressive facials, or experimental spray tans immediately before your session. Clean nails, moisturized lips, tidy facial hair, and hair that feels like you are really all we need.

Outfit Checklist

✅ Choose outfits that actually feel like you.

✅ Give yourself some variety instead of bringing several nearly identical looks.

✅ Try everything on before picture day.

✅ Sit, walk, and move around in each outfit.

✅ Check your shoes and accessories for every look.

✅ Steam or iron anything that's wrinkled.

✅ Check undergarments with light-colored or fitted clothing.

✅ Remove tags, stickers, and temporary stitching.

✅ Clean jewelry, glasses, and shoes if needed.

✅ If you're stuck between two outfits, bring both. We can decide together.

When in Doubt, Bring It

Can't decide between two shirts?

Bring both.

Wondering if the jacket will work?

Bring it.

Not sure whether we need the boots and the sneakers?

Throw them in the car.

I'd much rather have options and not use something than be standing in the middle of a field wishing we'd brought it.

Most Important...

Wear something that makes you feel good.

Everything else is just details.
