Meade Made | MC Screen Printing

One of my favorite parts about this Meade Made project is getting to step inside businesses I may

have driven past or heard about for years, but never fully realized just how much heart, work,

stress, and chaos goes into what they do every single day.

MC Screen Printing was one of those places.

If you’re from Brandenburg or anywhere around Meade County, there’s a pretty good chance

you already know their name. What started as a small side project for Lauren Caster and her

family has grown into one of those businesses people genuinely recommend over and over

because the work is good and the people behind it are even better.

Walking in, you instantly realize this isn’t just “making shirts.”

There are screens everywhere, stacks of orders, machines running, designs being worked on, hats being embroidered, and nonstop movement happening behind the scenes.

Honestly, it reminded me a lot of photography in a weird way. People usually only see the finished product.

They don’t always see the late nights, pressure, problem solving, messes, deadlines, exhaustion,

and constant work happening behind it all.

I loved getting to photograph their process.

The little details. Ink on hands. The equipment. The organized chaos of everyone moving

around each other trying to get orders done while still caring about quality.

That’s the kind of stuff I love documenting.

Not just perfect polished things, but real things.

And I think a lot of people around Meade County probably own something they’ve made and may not even realize how local so much of it really is. School shirts, sports uniforms, business apparel, fundraiser merch, decals, hats, event shirts… they’ve had a hand in a lot of things around this community.

And honestly, I think that’s really cool.

I can also personally vouch for them because Lauren has helped me with several things for ninefifteenphoto already. She’s made stickers for my business, helped me with shirts, and even embroidered a hat for my boyfriend.

Every single thing has turned out great. The quality is amazing, the turnaround time is fast, and

I love knowing I can bring my own ideas or products in and have someone local help turn them

into something that actually feels professional and branded well.

As another small business owner, that kind of support means a lot to me.

I also loved hearing about how much this business grew over time. It wasn’t some overnight success story.

It was one step at a time. Figuring things out as they went. Learning, adapting, growing, and continuing

to build something meaningful.

That part felt really relatable to me.

Small businesses are weird because people sometimes only see the finished version.

They don’t always see the self doubt, exhaustion, sacrifices, stress, or how much of yourself you pour into trying to make something work.

But places like MC Screen Printing are proof that hard work and community support still matter.

I’m really thankful they let me come in, take photos, and feature them as part of Meade Made.

If you can support local, do it.

It matters more than people realize.
