February’s Meade Made feature is Kimberly Phillips Clothier, a Meade County small business and proud member of the Meade County Chamber of Commerce.
This one was a fun one for me.
I had the chance to spend time with Kim during two completely different types of appointments, and I think that’s what made this experience stand out as much as it did. I got to sit in on both a wedding consultation and a prom consult, and being able to see both sides of what she does gave me a really full picture of how she works with her clients.
And I told her this while I was there… it was so fun to watch her work.
There’s something about seeing someone fully in their element that you just can’t fake. She’s confident in what she does, but not in a pushy way. She listens first. She pays attention. She guides people without taking over the process. It felt really natural, really intentional.
Nothing about it felt rushed or transactional. It felt like an experience from start to finish.
During the wedding consult, you could see how much care goes into helping someone prepare for such a big day. It wasn’t just about picking something out and moving on. It was about making sure everything felt right.
And then switching over to a prom consult, the energy shifts a little, but the care doesn’t. It’s still the same level of attention, just in a different kind of moment. It was honestly really cool to watch her adjust and meet people exactly where they were.
Her studio reflects all of that.
It’s welcoming, detailed, and full of personality. There are pieces in there that you can tell have meaning behind them. It doesn’t feel like a big-box experience. It feels like walking into a space that someone has truly built with intention.
And fun fact… I had actually photographed the Mr. and Mrs. Santa outfits that came from her shop before ever stepping into her studio like this. Those outfits are kind of a staple around here, and getting to connect that back to her and see where that creativity comes from made this even better.
That’s really what stuck with me the most.
This isn’t just about tux rentals or formalwear. It’s about helping people step into big moments feeling confident, prepared, and taken care of. Whether it’s a wedding, prom, or something in between, she’s creating an experience that people remember.
And getting to see that behind the scenes, in real time, is exactly why I love doing these.
