Luca’s session was one for the books. He showed up rocking a boot from a recent foot injury, but that didn’t slow him down for a second.
We got creative, used his scooter to mix things up, and honestly… it ended up adding a fun twist to the shoot.
He admitted he was a little nervous going into his session, but we ended up rocking it (pun totally intended).
I couldn’t believe how much of the same music we both enjoy — and his taste? So eclectic. From classics to modern, he’s got an ear for everything.
That made the record player portion of his session one of my favorites — it felt completely him.
I spent the afternoon with Luca, his family, and their dog, and it was such a great time. They’re an Army family who recently
moved to Meade County, and it was wonderful getting to hear their story and see how close-knit they are.
Luca’s the kind of senior with a wide range of interests, like sports, music, volunteering, history, teaching, Disney, and Marvel.
He’s a Colts fan, into vinyl, and already thinking ahead to college with plans for education and eventually law school.

When I found out he’s a big Baymax fan from Big Hero 6 (which happens to be one of my favorites too), I knew we had to work that in somewhere. That’s the fun part about senior photos ...capturing who you are right now. The music you play on repeat, the things that make you laugh, and even that phone that’s basically an extension of your hand.
What stood out most was how Luca rolled with every idea, from hanging out with his records to adding in Baymax, or snapping a few casual shots on his phone just because it felt authentic. The whole session felt relaxed, real, and entirely true to who he is.
Meeting new families and reconnecting with familiar ones is one of the best parts of what I do. Getting to know these seniors ... what they’re into, what inspires them, what makes them unique. This helps me tell their story in a way that really reflects them. For parents, my goal is to create more than just portraits; I want these images to capture this stage of life before everything starts to shift and change.

It’s always a good day when a session turns into something unexpected in the best way. Luca showed up with a boot and a scooter, ready to roll (literally), and we made it work — and then some. Between the downtown Brandenburg backdrop, his record collection, and a little Baymax cameo, this session felt personal and real from start to finish.
There was so much easy conversation and genuine laughter with his family — the kind that makes time fly. What stood out most was how Luca stayed true to himself the whole time, even while improvising. Music, personality, and a little humor carried the whole evening.
