Some sessions just click right from the start — and Emily’s was one of them.
Her mom won a free session through one of my Facebook giveaways (see, it really pays to enter those!), and from the moment we met, it felt like I’d known them both for years.
Emily has the kind of energy that just draws people in — calm, kind, and full of sunshine. And fittingly, the sun decided to show off for us all evening long. Every frame was drenched in soft light, warm tones, and that golden glow that photographers dream about.

We spent the evening exploring the open fields and trails at Otter Creek Park in Brandenburg, Kentucky, laughing and talking about school, plans for the future, and life in a small town. She told me she plans to go to nursing school after graduation — and if her grace and patience during this session were any sign, she’s going to make an incredible nurse.
And just wait until we get to her volleyball photos… I already know they’re going to be amazing.
Her mom messaged me later to say how much fun they had and how comfortable they felt — like they’d known me forever. Honestly, it felt exactly the same on my end.
That’s what I love most about what I do — it’s more than just photos; it’s connection, laughter, and real moments in between the poses.
So here’s to Emily — a future nurse, a Morgan Wallen fan, and an absolute ray of sunshine. 🌞

It’s always such a privilege to photograph seniors standing at the start of their next chapter . They are full of light, laughter, and promise for what’s ahead. Emily’s session was exactly that. From golden fields and sunshine that seemed to follow her, to the easy laughter she shared with her mom, this evening captured everything I love about documenting this season of life.
