The Adams Family Session

Some sessions remind me exactly why I love what I do, and this one was absolutely one of them. Kaitlyn actually entered one of my ninefifteenphoto Facebook giveaways, and this session was the result. If you’ve ever thought about skipping one of those giveaways, don’t. You never know when a quick entry could turn into golden hour magic like this.
We met out on the Adams family’s farm in Guston, Kentucky, the land where they’ll someday build their home. We were surrounded by rolling fields, black walnut trees, and a few curious cows who definitely wanted to be part of the action. One cow tried to eat my camera (true story), and another kept sneaking into the background like a seasoned photobomber. It was chaos in the best possible way.
Their kids brought all the energy and heart. Zavier was full of excitement and laughter, running circles around us with endless joy. Kannon, their youngest, had the sweetest little expressions, and I couldn’t help but smile since my own son shares his name. And Alexie-Kait, or AK, had that calm confidence and effortless coolness that grounded the whole family vibe.

We explored their land, tossed a few black walnuts, and soaked in the Kentucky sunset while they laughed, played, and made new memories right where their future home will stand. These are the sessions I love most, the ones that happen on your own property, in your element, where your story already has roots. Even if you don’t see the beauty in it yet, your photographer will.
As the sun dipped low, we ended with a photo in front of their family sign, the perfect way to close out a session that already felt like home.
If you’re in Meade County or Guston, Kentucky, and you’ve ever thought about entering one of my photo giveaways, consider this your sign. Don’t sleep on them, because this is what happens when you say yes to something free and a little bit spontaneous.

It’s always such an honor to photograph families whose stories are still growing right where their roots are being planted. This session was the perfect example. From curious cows and black walnut trees to the laughter of kids running wild on the land where their forever home will one day stand, the Adams family brought so much joy, energy, and love to every moment.
